Arsenal drop their 17/18 home kit at Kings Cross

Less than a month after winning a record 13th FA Cup at Wembley, Arsenal were the talk of London once again last week, as the club launched its latest home strip at Kings Cross Station.

PUMA’s latest Arsenal drop is a distinctly darker shade of red than last season’s effort, though stops short of a return to their 2005-06 colours (the popular ‘redcurrant’ worn their final year at Highbury).

With their famous white sleeves intact and rounding their way to the collar zone, the outcome is a look that is classic Arsenal. But what about that collar?…

Red to the core

Keeping a traditional feel, the fold-over buttoned collar is a big difference to last year’s, and is similar to those used by Arsene Wenger’s original title-winning team. With the club having played in simpler rounded collars for more than a decade now, this tweak is a welcome change, while the new shirt also does away with the central tonal stripe – putting the emphasis right back on the club’s red core instead.

Set the benchmark

Among the legends on hand to welcome the new kit in London were Gunners icons Robert Pires, Ray Parlour and Martin Keown – and with players like these setting the benchmark, expectations at the Emirates remain high. If Arsenal’s results this season can match their style on the pitch though, today’s team have every chance of a famous 2017-18.

The choice is yours

With the new Arsenal shirt available from Kitbag in a wide range of adult and junior sizes, we also offer a host of shirt printing and badge options.

Whether looking to wear the name and number of a current Gunner, or celebrate an icon like Keown, Parlour or Pires, the choice is yours – with each available in the brand new EPL font. With Premier League patches also available, Kitbag has everything to upgrade your Arsenal top in time for August’s big kick-off.

Final take?

So what’s our final take on the shirt? We love it. It’s smart and stylish, crisp and clean and one of our favourites of all this July’s launches. While the accompanying shorts are standard, this year’s socks are definitely worth a mention , combining PUMA’s performance technology with a striking visual design.

Hitting the sweet spot of their old red and white hooped style and a more modern pattern, Wenger’s boys will look the part in these. Now, can the Gunners build on their FA Cup success with a fresh attack on the top of the Premier League?

Cheer the Gunners to glory in 2017-18 with your own Arsenal 2017-18 home kit from Kitbag.
