Sarah is best known as an actress. She got her start learning the career choice by attending the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan, New York. Some of her first roles were in the popular films ‘Private Parts’ in 1997, the remake of ‘Annie’ in 1999, and ‘Blind Date’ in 2007.
She went on to her breakthrough role in the popular ABC television series ‘Modern Family’. She has won various awards for her role as Haley Dunphy in the sitcom, including four Screen Actors Guild Awards with her castmates for the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Sarah was diagnosed with kidney dysplasia as a child and had to have two kidney transplants. One was in 2012 with a kidney from her father and her second was from her younger brother, Ian, in 2017.
